CNC Machine Programmer

Basic Job Description
AEM require an experienced Hypermill CAM programmer to join our busy programming department. We have recently invested in Open Mind Hypermill and would like to recruit an experienced programmer who ideally has passed Part 1, 2 and 5axis Hypermill training units. Parts will be programmed to run on Hurco 3 and 5-axis machines cutting Rohacell and Carbon Fibre.

Responsibilities

  • Initially, aid the department in the transition from our existing CAM software to Hypermill, including creating tool libraries and master files.
  • Using CAM software to produce safe and efficient machining strategies for machining composite materials to customer supplied CAD model data and specification.
  • Read, understand and be able to work from technical drawings.
  • Consulting with workshop staff and quality assurance to ensure maximum efficiency whilst maintaining high quality.
  • Assist sales staff in quoting on new parts by creating drawings and providing technical information relating to how the part is going to be programmed.
Required Skills & Attributes
  • AEM Products Ltd are seeking a confident, self-starter to join a growing engineering company to work alongside experienced engineering staff.
  • Hypermill experience essential. Hypermill part 1, 2 and 5 axis training preferred.
  • Previous experience of quality requirements and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and tolerance specifications essential.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent level of concentration, be focused and be able to work as part of a team efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • An interest in motorsport and composite manufacturing will be advantageous.
Salary and Holidays
Competitive – dependant on experience.
Hours of Work
Minimum 40 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am - 5.00pm Monday – Friday. Overtime available during busy periods paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate.
